Amsterdam: Hotels

prep for my upcoming trip.  I spotted a post on remodelista about a design mecca of a hotel.  The Lloyd Hotel, where I will not be staying, is a monumental 1921 structure that was once a penitentiary for minors, before that it was a waystation for emigrants on their way out of Europe.  Now it's a concept hotel whose interiors were overhauled by high-profile Dutch designers, architects & artists. Claudy Jongstra, Hella Jongerius, Marcel Wanders and Richard Hutten, to name a few).

The 85 Lamps chandelier by Rody Graumans for Droog and AVL seating and table by Joep van Lieshout for Moooi in the common spaces.

Rooms located under the eaves have a rustic air.
