hamptons designer showhouse

Earlier this week I made it to the Hamptons Designer Showhouse before it closes.  How does summer sneak by so quickly?
Here are a few things that I found to be highlights.
powder room with bold high gloss walls.

This beautiful brass & leather magazine holder with a sea green shagreen handle.

Geometric grasscloth wallpaper in tangerine.  Bad picture I my part, but good wallcovering & cool art.

I've been looking for lamps & I really like this elegant glass & lamp with gold base & details.

This silver tray with candlesticks attached caught my eye.  Very unique & somehow reminded me of the famous piece by artist Josiah McElheny.

This light fixture was so cool.  Would you have arachnid dreams with this above your bed?

This fabric covered the walls in one of the bedrooms to great effect.

Love this wallpaper in the baby room.

Great brass butterfly sculpture with a mid-century vibe on the ceiling.

I spotted this Vaughn lamp at Webster & Co at the Boston Design Center a few weeks back and was smitten.  Was pleased to spot it again here in the reading area of the master bedroom.

Large scale glass chandelier in the master.

I'm a fan of this simple bench upholstered in a rag rug.

I think I'll steal this idea.

Nice flat weave rug in a Greek key pattern in the family room off of the kitchen.

Kitchen island is killer for entertaining with a narrow sink perfect for wine bottles.

Happy long weekend!

beach seats

My streak of not finding much at yard sales was broken when I jogged past a soggy sale a few saturdays ago.  While my jog was also dashed, I scored these lovelies for $10 each!

They replaced this French bench for more inviting seating.

The classic fabric sling chairs are starting to break, but they still look cute lined up in the sand in front of our deck.

I'm happy with my choice to go with the classic directors chairs to surround our picnic table.  White may get dirty, but it is so damn crisp and yacht-y!

A great discovery was the dual purpose of the back of our custom outdoor sectional (did I mention that my better half built it?!).  Perfect protected nooks for mood lighting.

Happy summer seating.
