showhouse buzz

In the honor of self-promotion, I am excited to share this will you:
Boston Globe
article

Not to shabby for the newbie.  I hope you all come by and take a look.  I am floored, but you guys should not miss out on the designs throughout.  Terrat-Elms Interiors, Dennis Duffy & Jonathan Adler created spaces that are so great you may never leave.  While you are being ushered out in your starry-eyed trance, at least you will be pushed out to Peter's Park which you can enjoy on this warm sunny weekend.  Blooms abound.

Hope to see you all at the Showhouse (Thurs - Sun, April 29th - May 9th).

sculptor niho kozuru

I just met Niho Kozuru.  She is a local artist that creates these incredibly cool cast rubber sculptures.  They are of balustrades, architectural elements and other common objects that are reconfigured to be presented in an entirely new way.

I want to install her spindles in my staircase!  How about cast yellow rubber?  Cool!

urban showhouse: almost open!

I'm pleased to say that the installation of my rooms in the showhouse was completed early in the week.  With some tweaking here and there and some additions and removals, the space is photo ready.  Which is a good thing.  Photographers have been documenting all of the designers spaces over the past few days and the whole place looks great!
Make sure you come by.  Thursday thru Sunday's until May 9th.
I am tempted to post pictures, but I don't want to give it all away!

Enjoy this spring shot for now.
Spring has certainly sprung.
Which means Brimfield is coming up.

a south end design moment

For those of you who have not yet visited, J.E.M. named aptly, is exactly that.  A jem of a boutique on Shawmut Avenue that showcases designers and artists and all sorts of interesting relics.  Coming up on Thursday April 22nd, Jane Miller, owner and designer will be hosting a Spring Salon introducing South End artist Isabelle Abramson.  What a great design event for the wonderful South End.  Check out the invite:

open house today.

Today was the open house for our beautiful and soulful home on Shawmut Avenue.  Could not have asked for better weather.  I can't imagine a better roof deck in all of the city (except for our friend's Sarah & Tom's deck, which is perfect.)  I know anyone who came fell in love with it.  All we can hope is that someone will make 322 their home.

I mean, come on!

We are really going to miss this place.  As we sit making a Sunday dinner of pasta pesto and a bit of cleaning out the fridge, the sun goes down and the Pru lights come on, we feel nostalgic already.  Smells like I am burning the pine nuts - gotta run!

beautiful today in boston.

wanted to share a moment.  could the weather be better?  hard to find a thing wrong on a day like today.

new home. new project.

So excited to announce that we'll be moving into a new home sometime this summer.  Still in the South End, so close in fact, that I may be able to build a shoot to send my moving boxes in.  I'll be sharing the progress of updating and construction and, of course, all the decoration for the new maison de lise.
I will miss our current place a lot.  Check out my website for a look at it under "Boston duplex."

So far, here is a bit of inspiration what I would like to do with my new living room windows.
Will the budget allow?

Urban Showhouse news

We are getting closer to the South End's own showhouse!  Thank you to Ricardo Rodriguez for organizing such a terrific event (and for inviting me to be a part of it)!

Thank you to the wonderful and supportive local vendors.  They are movers and shakers who have kindly and enthusiastically donated some of their awesome product to make my floor truly unique.  J.E.M., Hudson, Acquire, Vessel, Lekker, Michelle Willey, Simplemente Blanco and Steven King
