Belated Brimfield Blog Boast

Hello All.  Yes, I "did" Brimfield.
It's sort of a must.. and thanks to my friend Sarah, I am always fortified with the belief that we are going to unearth the finds of the century.  I am a bit wary each time, but get excited the eve of each visit that "this will be the one."

Spotted these magnificent red doors with dreams of installing them somewhere.  They were snagged by a stylish set.  Not sure if it was for fashion or function, but they provide both.

Almost bought this beauty for my husband. He regrets I didn't.

Another regret.  S & I are kicking ourselves for not picking up these bathing beauties.  Check out those shades!  What a pair.  *See missed lamp opportunities.

One of the more magnificent textiles.  This was out of my price range, but I couldn't stop myself from admiring and wondering if a special client I love would want such an intricate piece.  I walked.  Sigh.

I considered these great looking industrial units for my living room.  They are newly made from some great shelves of tempered w/ glass chicken wire, an iron frame and industrial casters.  These are mentally stored away for future use.

On another style note, I was totally sweating these side tables.  I've wanted to add a seventies or fourties flair to my living room.  Not sure what kept me from taking them home.  Could it be: no more dough?

Now for the fun and disturbing.

this disturbed.

this was the most fun!

this was disturbing.
It's a fountain w/ a bottle and a large snifter for those that don't appreciate my phone photo.

Fun!

Still disturbing.

Fun!

disturbing?

Fun.  As in: I love them all.

This disturbed me.  Not my preferred seating.  Though it would be great for my Aspen client!

Fun game table.  This was a beauty from Brazil.  I'll let Alessandra know I found it.

This disturbed because his tail should not curl that way.

I may head back to check out the goods in July.  It's always a story, if not a treasure trove.
Happy hunting, my friends.

double lights

Hello my long lost friends.  I wanted to update you on a wonderful project that I have been working on.  As you know, lighting is key.  I've said it before.
Here are some recent installs that I am proud of:

Great looking spheres are modern yet organic.  Twigs are hand-woven into the filament that surround these globes.

New fabulous sconces in the guest bathroom.  Lots of light with a classy yacht vibe.

Stunning Mexican pendants that add interest to a large master bedroom.  These create interest near a chaise lounge.

It's been a long time

Forgive me for going dark for so long.  It's not as though I have not been working, it's that the progress here at the homestead is more subtle and slow.  I am excited to show you a few things that have changed.

We've painted a wall in the kitchen black.  It's chalkboard paint.  Thanks to Kevin for the notion, I really like the way it finishes off the space.
I've yet to get the darn chalk.

(Here is the before black picture:
)

Also, we finally got our super sized half moon shaped French mattress style cushion.  It's amazing.
U¨ber cozy den

Notice the sconces that were installed today.
Originally I specified the Jielde sconces, but these are from Restoration Hardware.  They work well in the space.  It'll take some fussing to get the arms where we want them.
